Holy layer effects, batman. Just messing around with photoshop. I have so many commissions, I need to stop messing around with personal projects. Anyways, this is supposed to represent pestilence (illness, plague, etc.) In 14th century art, sufferers of the black plague were depicted in paintings with arrows shot through them. Fun fact.

Horse reference from :iconroslend: Thankies.

PESTILENCE PONY!! :D XD XD

Awesome rendering
How spiffy. I love me some black plague trivia.
But mostly I love horses and you depicted this one beautifully despite the morbid message. ^^

That reminds me of another "funfact", namely of knives piercing in an apotropaeic way through snakes depicted in Ancient Egyptian tombs... Quite funny to find something similar in 14th century pestilence pictures. (Though I guess that your Lily-Doe isn't supposed to be seen in that way... *lol*) Nice greenish colours and light effects, by the way.
