Artist's Comments

Cece. I am sooo over drawing you.

K, the way I thought it out was that she was curle up and her knees are kinda pulled up and the blanket is over them. However, you are ultimately right and I should have to explain anatomy, it either works or it doesn't so I'll try to fix it. :)

Critiques

:iconkhildress:
I think perhapse changing the color of the bedding would help alot, along with moving the angle of the knee further to the left. And something is going on with her left arm.... more contrast, similar to the bedpost?

I like the leaves and the way the cat seems to be looking at ME, as if he knows he's in a painting. The transition between the glass and the background outside of the window is a little funky, too similar I think. I'm not sure about how one would go about changing it.

Other then that this is awesome and I love it. Awesome JOB!

The lighting on the bedposts is fantastic, and I like how the same light is used on the mirror and the side of the girl's dress, but you didn't bring the same light sourse onto her skin (which is odd, because normally it's spot on). If you made her arm a bit darker with the more dramatic (I presume candle) lighting on it, my impact rating would go up from a 4/5 to a 5/5, as she looks a bit too lit up compared to the bed.

If you made her left thigh attach a bit higher to the body, then the knees will make perfect sense, but in all honesty, I didn't notice it untill I read your comment in the artist box.

Critique (cuz I dont have a sub): Beautiful painting, I love the atmosphere. The only thing that threw me off what the relationship of the legs to the torso... Its a bit ambiguous in the waist area.
Overall though, I love the directional devices you used, and I think this is a very effective work :)

Wow, the atmosphere is incredibly eerie, yet beautiful at the same time! I really love their eyes and the flow of the curtains.
I'm going to say that I agree completely with Nimbus2005.

Sometimes I believe I should be shot for my stupidity... this is not that time.

I like their strange, matching stares... very cool.
The wooden walls look positively real and weathered and perhaps splintery. The whole thing reeks of autumn, and I love that.

The world is not beautiful, therefore it is.

Ooh, I love the eyes. :-)
I'm not enough of an art critic to offer a critique, but I will say that I got the same sense of waist-ambiguity that Nimbus 2005 mentioned.

This is excellent - I'm always envious of your painting ability.

That woodgrain texture is amazing.

Thirding what's been said about about waist ambiguity and the relationship between the legs and torso. It does look very odd.

Do you have to have a subscription to Deviant to sell prints?

How do the prints work? Do you actually print them out and send them to the buyer, or does a company print and send them?
